Nappy changing frame

First time mum found it difficult to change a dirty nappy with limited use of her right hand. Her wriggly baby was forever putting his foot in the wrong place!

Play Guard

A client with severe learning disabilities loves to roll on the floor of her shared lounge. Unfortunately it is unsafe for her and other residents, and staff haven’t the time to supervise her. Staff asked us to create a safe area for her to do this.

Changing Unit

The child was too large for the existing changing unit, but the available space was very limited, and a larger unit would not fit in the available space. Extending the existing unit was the only option.

Special School Bed Modifications

A Special School in Birmingham had three very large ‘beds’ where children with learning difficulties could be placed in safe environments with sound or visual stimulation. However the canvas side panels intended to stop the children from falling off were insecure and incomplete. Secure canvas side panels, fitted to all four sides of each ‘bed’ were needed.

Push Button Sewing Machine Control

Our client, with tetraplegia, is able to manipulate his arms enough in order to push and pull and very lightly hook (or hold) objects in his otherwise immobile fingers. He has sufficient patience and skill to use a sewing machine to make rubber padded gloves to protect the hands of fellow wheelchair users.

Sacrificial chewing aid

Two fabric slings were modified with quick release snap connectors like the type that are used on ID badge neck straps. The device can be worn around the neck with low risk as the connectors will release if pulled […]

Wheelchair bag

The client required a bag to hold her shopping while using her wheelchair, but was no longer able to reach behind her to a bag hung on the seatback. The bag was made to sit in front within easy reach with a strap that supports it from the arm rests.  Integral padding protects the thighs […]

Seat foot rest

Original unsuitable arrangement Foot rest extension fitted… .. with padding added. The footrest of the client’s reclining armchair did not fully support her feet.
