Bedside light with multiple switches

This client was not happy to use his bed because he could not quickly or easily find the bedside light switch if he needed it during the night and preferred to sleep in a recliner chair.

Electric go-kart

A manual pedal go-kart converted to electric operation with a hand throttle, and a radio operated stop switch.

Device to put on a coat

Milton Keynes panel were asked if we could help a client to put on his outdoor coat. He could not move his hands to behind him, which meant putting on a coat in the normal way almost impossible.
A powered device was made which, under the control of the Client, lifts the coat up his back then releases it when the coat collar reaches shoulder height

Lifting Cot for Wheelchair user Mum

A powered variable height cot was made for a wheelchair using recent mother. The cot allowed her to bring her baby up to a height where she could change and care for him, and then lower to the floor to form a safe playpen

The capability to prepare food is a key marker for an independent life but, unless you are going to live on cold food, that means cooking. What could be easier? A temperature sensor and a relay and some bespoke interfacing. Except – ovens, especially built-in ones, are hostile environments for electronics.

Remote control for wheelchair

Sue has multiple sclerosis and uses an electric wheelchair.
