Our client has cerebral palsy and learning disabilities. He uses his shower chair to move around at home due to its smaller size compared with his wheelchair. However, the shower chair does not have a headrest fitted, causing discomfort and is particularly uncomfortable and dangerous during seizures. The shower chair manufacturer does not make a headrest for the shower chair.
Remap engineer Bill Barker used a headrest from a standard wheelchair, which was then slightly modified and fitted to the shower chair using two U-clamps.
The client can now continue to move more easily around his home with greater comfort, and more safely during seizures.
